Days, Not Documents
Several timestamped entries a day, in rich text, with a rating and tags. A trip or a festival can be one entry across several days.
A private journal that lives on your devices.
Write a few lines or a few pages, as often as you like each day. Rate the day, tag it, add its photos and the calendar events that mattered. Everything works offline and for free; sync between your devices is optional and end-to-end encrypted.
Quick to start, calm to read, and yours to keep.

Add the day's photos straight from your library, and keep the calendar events that mattered. Kept events follow the calendar if they move or are cancelled.
Find anything you have written in an instant, and see the same date in every earlier year from one button.
No sign-up, no ads, no paywalled features. Open the app and start writing; every feature works without a connection, forever.
Optional sync keeps every device in step. It is end-to-end encrypted, so the server only ever holds ciphertext. Add a device by scanning a code.
Import from Day One, Daylio, Markdown and Obsidian. Export to JSON, Markdown or HTML whenever you like.
Common questions about LibreLog, sync and your data.
Yes. Every feature works offline, on every platform, with no account, ads or limits. The one paid part will be sync between your devices, priced at what the hosting costs us each year.
No. Sync is end-to-end encrypted: your devices encrypt everything before it leaves them, and the key never reaches our server. Without an account, nothing leaves your device at all.
Photos stay on the device you added them on; other devices show a blurred preview. iPhone, iPad and Mac signed in to the same iCloud Photos library show the real photo from their own library, so nothing is uploaded to us.
LibreLog imports Day One, Daylio and Markdown, and an Obsidian vault with a small script. It exports to JSON, Markdown and HTML, so you can leave whenever you like.
LibreLog is in testing on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, with Windows close behind. Email librelog@maybeitssoftware.co.uk to join the beta.
Yes, under the GNU AGPL. The apps, the shared Rust core and the sync backend are all on GitHub, with notes on hosting your own sync.
