Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Takt, setup, and integrations.

What is Takt and who is it for?

Takt is a keyboard-driven task app for the Mac, designed for engineers, writers, and power users. It allows you to navigate, reprioritize, and complete tasks at lightning speed without ever reaching for your mouse. Takt used to be called Priority.

Does Takt work offline?

Yes. Your workspace lives on your Mac, so everything works offline. Signing in to sync is optional: it keeps your iPhone and Android in step, and changes made offline merge once you are back online.

How does the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server work?

Takt includes an MCP server, enabling local AI assistants like Claude Desktop to view your tasks, add items to your lists, plan focus sessions, and log daily accomplishments safely through structured tool calls.

Which devices are supported?

Takt is built natively with Swift and SwiftUI for macOS 15.6 and later. It opens as a desktop window, keeps a menu bar surface for quick capture, and answers global hotkeys. iPhone and Android apps share the same workspace through sync.
